JACK HARRIES

You may or may not recognise this incredible philanthropist and breath--taking personality from a YouTube channel called Jacksgap. Jack Harries, born and bred of  British brilliance is one of the world’s most successful YouTubers and environmental activists. Jack and Finn Harries (twin brothers) founded Jacksgap, their YouTube channel in 2011 with the aim of filming the odd video on their personalities, skills they had or collaborations done with fellow YouTubers. Their site has since blossomed into one of most incredible platforms to exist on the Internet, in my humble opinion.

Jack and Finn have over the years transported their viewers (via YouTube) to a number of exotic and beautifully rustic countries around the globe, primarily to raise awareness for certain charities, organisations, and current pending environmental issues. Jack and a number of different teams have taken on projects that will keep you hilariously entertained, captivated, and ready to scroll their page for the next jaw-dropping series of events.

The Rickshaw Run in 2013 for example, was a nomads dream project that raised $100 000 for the Teenage Cancer Trust in America . What they did? - casually drove about 3500km in 3 weeks from East to West India in Rickshaws.

No Biggie.

Other projects you should definitely check out:

Our Changing Climate: A short documentary with the support of the WWF, whereby Jack and his team take us to Greenland, to observe and raise awareness about the importance of climate change. Trust me this is not your run of the mill climate change video.

Following Heart: A short film series in which Jack, Finn and his team in collaboration with Skype, travel to Tanzania to document the improvement of education for rural schooled children in poverty stricken areas. The film also features jet setting to The Bahamas in an effort to raise money for the conservation of sea life and more specifically, sharks. These regions are just two of many they visit. Turns out if you’re not using Skype to call your grandparents, it’s a pretty powerful tool. Check out their YouTube videos for a compelling take of the individuals using Skype’s connectivity to reach communities worldwide: Following Heart
